NA Chairwoman receives Singaporean diplomat

VOV.VN - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has told the Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam that her upcoming official visit to Singapore demonstrates Vietnam’s foreign policy of strengthening ties with ASEAN member countries, including Singapore.

At a reception in Hanoi on November 23 for Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Catherine Wong Siow Ping prior to her official visit to Singapore from November 26-28, Ngan said the visit is part of activities celebrating the 45th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and one of this year’s major external relations activities of the Vietnamese Party and State.

She said the visit will offer an opportunity for the two countries’ businesses to expand partnerships.

Over recent years, the two sides have maintained regular exchange visits at all levels, typically President Tran Dai Quang's Singapore visit in 2016, the Vietnam visit by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in March 2017 and his attedance at the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders Meeting held recently in central city of Da Nang.

Ambassador Catherine Wong Siow Ping also informed the top Vietnamese legislator about working agenda of the official visit, in which NA Chair Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan will hold meetings with senior Singaporean leaders and participated in a roundtable discussion between the two countries' businesses and other sideline activities.

The Singaporean diplomat described the visit as a vivid reflection of the growing bilateral ties and a contribution to further strengthening future cooperation between the two nations.
