Lao officer stresses boosting borderline defence cooperation
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Lao Armed Forces, Major General Kham Lieng has underscored the need for Laos and Vietnam to establish close defence coordination along their shared borderline.

The Lao officer was speaking to Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defence Minister, Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang during their meeting in Hanoi on April 25.
Giang hailed the guest’s visit on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18) and the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties (September 5).
He asked the two defence ministries’ units to maintain close bonds to contribute to the two countries’ national defence-security cause.
