Kuwait’s national days marked in HCM City
The Consulate General of Kuwait in Ho Chi Minh City on February 26 held a celebration to mark the country’s 57th National Independence Day (February 25) and 27th Liberation Day.

The two sides will enjoy a stronger bond in the future, he stated while inviting Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Kuwait, contributing to bolstering two-way trade.
Meanwhile, Le Thanh Liem, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, congratulated the Middle East country for taking the seat as rotary chair of the United Nations Security Council in February.
He expressed his belief that based on the sound bilateral relations, cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Kuwait will be enhanced. Ho Chi Minh City wants to work with Kuwait in development assistance, labour and education-training.
He hoped that Kuwait will become a gateway for the Vietnamese southern hub to enhance trade exchange with other Gulf countries.
Vietnam is currently the largest trade partner of Kuwait in the ASEAN bloc while the Middle East nation is among leading trade partners of Vietnam in the region. Two-way trade in 2017 reached US$350 million and the figure is expected to hit US$2 billion by 2020.
Vietnam and Kuwait are strategic partners in the oil and gas sector, with hundreds of Vietnamese working in Kuwait in the field.
