Government leader, Party official host special advisor to Japanese PM

VOV.VN - The governments of Vietnam and Japan are discussing an action plan to realize the bilateral extensive strategic partnership, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at a July 18 reception in Hanoi for Kawai Katsuyuki, Special Advisor to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

PM Phuc told his guest that he hopes to meet PM Abe again at the APEC Summit 2017 in Vietnam. 

He told the special advisor that Vietnam will offer all possible support for Japan to soon launch key investment projects in transport and energy in Vietnam, delivering on commitments between the two PMs. 

Katsuyuki conveyed Abe’s message to the host, saying that Japan highly values Vietnam’s strategic position and wishes to further enhance bilateral extensive strategic partnership. 

He said PM Abe was delighted to meet the Vietnamese PM at the recent G20 Summit and looks forward to meeting him at APEC Summit 2017 slated for later this year in the central city of Danang. 

The guest affirmed his nation's support and efforts to speed up the progress of key transport and energy projects in Vietnam.

The same day, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh also hosted a reception in Hanoi  for Kawai Katsuyuki.

Chinh, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, praised the contributions of PM Abe and other Japanese leaders to boosting bilateral ties, particularly in connecting the two economies. 

He said he hopes Japan will further step up bilateral cooperation and investment to maintain its position as one of the leading trade partners with Vietnam, adding that Vietnam will continue providing support for Japanese investors.

Katsuyuki, for his part, said PM Abe and Japanese leaders always give high priority to ties with Vietnam in diverse areas, especially in fine-tuning mechanisms, reforming administrative procedures, developing infrastructure, and training high-quality human resources. 

He expressed wish to continue working hand in hand with Vietnam to contribute to maintaining peace, stability, security, safety, and prosperity in the region and the wider world.
