Government leader hosts Waikato University Vice-Chancellor

VOV.VN - On November 16, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Vice-Chancellor Neil Clayton Quigley of New Zealand’s University of Waikato in Hanoi.

The Prime Minister expected more cooperation in training of mining and geology between Vietnam and New Zealand as well as in cyber security.

Professor Quigley who is also Director of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand said his visit would open new cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese agencies, especially in law training courses with Hanoi Law University and Waikato University.

The university has recently signed a cooperation agreement with New Zealand’s police, which is a new promising training area, especially in cyber crime prevention and fighting, and the university is ready to join hands with Vietnam in this field, the Vice-Chancellor told his host.

Neil Clayton Quigley said he is willing to step up cooperation activities with Vietnam in credit, financial administration and banking, contributing to propel the Vietnam-New Zealand relationship forward.
