Welcoming the minister, PM Phuc stressed that the visit continues to help consolidate and boost the Vietnam-Laos traditional friendship and special solidarity.

To maintain the relations, he suggested the two sides continue with high-level delegation exchanges, while the two defence ministries should fulfil their role as advisor and make timely proposals to the two countries’ leaders.

He emphasised that Vietnam will try its best to help put the Lao National Assembly House into operation early, serving as one of the symbols for the bilateral relations.

The Vietnamese Government leader also reaffirmed Vietnam’s stance of maintaining the Vietnam-Laos borderline of peace, friendship and stability, asking Lao ministries and sectors to coordinate with Vietnam to ensure border security and order and effectively prevent cross-border crime.

The two ministries have held more than 40 exchanges and cooperative activities in 2017 to respond to the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year.
