Government leader hails Vietnam-Spain cooperation

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc appreciated the results of cooperation between Vietnam and Spain recently, particularly a trade revenue of US$3 billion last year and US$2 billion in the first half of this year.

At a meeting with Spain Ambassador to Vietnam Alfonso Tena Garcia in Hanoi on December 8, PM Phuc suggested both countries should increase their cooperation in all sectors in accordance with their strategic partnership, adding that Vietnam has offered conditions for foreign investors to do business in Vietnam. 

He used the occasion to thank Spain for its ODA, noting that capital source has been used efficiently.

Ambassador Garcia agreed with Prime Minister Phuc’s suggestions, including activities to mark their 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2017. 

He said his nation backs the signing of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EUVFTA) and Spanish businesses want to invest in infrastructure in Vietnam, including the Metro project in Ho Chi Minh City.
