Deputy PM meets Belgian Ambassador
VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue on May 18 hosted a reception for Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Jehanne Roccas in Hanoi.
Deputy PM Hue told his guest that Vietnam desires to solidify stronger cooperation with Belgium in tertiary education, green economy and climate change adaptation.
EUR2.2 billion in two-way trade is still a modest figure, Hue said, noting that he hopes Belgium will open its door for Vietnam’s farm produce and support it in accessing advanced technology of Belgium and Europe.
Vietnam wants Belgium, a founding and prestigious member of the EU, to help accelerate the bloc’s signing and approval of a free trade agreement (FTA) with Vietnam, he added.
The Belgian diplomat, in turn held that her nation's cooperation and investment projects in Vietnam focus on tertiary training, green economy and vocational training with a total investment of about EUR 600 million.
In addition to developing traditional cooperation areas, Belgium wishes to boost investment partnership with Vietnam in the time ahead, she emphasized.
