Banquet held in honour of top Lao leader
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang co-hosted a banquet in Hanoi on December 19 evening in honour of General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President Bounnhang Vorachith.

Speaking at the event, Trong said the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos is an important factor to ensure the success of each country’s revolutionary cause and an invaluable asset of the two Parties and nations that needs to be passed on to later generations.
The Party, State and people of Vietnam pledge to work with their Lao counterparts to nurture the traditional friendship for the sake of prosperity, the well-being of the two nations and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world as well, he said.
Vorachith, for his part, expressed his sincere thanks to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for providing support for Laos, not only in the national liberation cause in the past but also for the country’s development at present.
He affirmed that the Party, State and people of Laos will do their utmost to maintain traditional solidarity with Vietnam and to educate the two countries’ young generations about their relations.
Participants at the banquet toasted the everlasting relationship between the two countries.
