Thailand's Disaster, Prevention and Mitigation Department said the count takes in a period that began October 10.

The department said 127 deaths are mainly from the northern and northeastern regions, and 58 people died in the south.

Heavy rains caused rivers to overflow in several regions in the country, and many residents fled flooded areas for higher ground.
