Thousands of young women aged 18-27 are expected to contest the title Miss Vietnam Jewellery 2007 when the event kicks off in September.
The biennial contest, launched by the Handicrafts & Jewellery Fashion magazine in 2003, aims to promote and advance jewellery design in the country.
Contestants, who will be judged on their appearance and style, will each wear a piece of jewellery designed by local artisans.
The winner will receive US$4,600 and a trip abroad. The jury will also award four prizes and gifts to the winners in the categories of Best Conduct, Best Photo, Best Ao Dai and Best Evening Gown.
The main sponsors of the contest are the Central Committee of Vietnam Jewellery and Precious Stone Association and the Vietnam Small-and Medium-Sized Enterprises Association.
