A meeting of writers who entered the 2009 Southeast Asian Writers Award, and literature lovers was held in Bangkok, Thailand on October 5.

Vietnamese writer Cao Duy Son won the S.E.A.Write Award with a short story called Ngoi Nha Xua Ben Suoi (The Old House by the River).

At the meeting, he portrayed Vietnam’s countryside and people, including 54 ethnic minority groups and his short story to literature lovers.

Writer Cao Duy Son started his career in 1984 and since then he has had 5 novels and 7 volumes of short stories published. In 2008, his short story entitled Ngoi Nha Xua Ben Suoi (The Old House by the River) won an award granted by the Vietnam Writers Association.

In 2009, the S.E.A.Write Award was given to 8 writers from Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The awards ceremony will take place at the Oriental Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand on October 9.
