An exhibition titled “Vietnamese Businesswomen – Great Pride” opened on October 18 at the Women’s Museum at 36 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Hanoi.

The exhibition details the stories of 25 women who have overcome great adversity and hardship to become strong and proud business entrepreneurs and exemplify the Vietnamese women’s noble character “Dynamic, Creative, Faithful, Ingenious”.

On display are over 100 photographs and 200 objects showcasing the commitment of these women in fields such as investment, commercial services, traditional handcrafts and public health.

The stories show the strength and resilience these women have applied in order to overcome strict social conventions, limited available capital, family constraints and at times failure, to rise to prominence in their fields, gaining the admiration and respect of leaders of the business community, their families and employees and providing a role model for young women.

The exhibition will run until the end of February 2008.
