The Vietnamese volleyball team lost 0-3 to Thailand in the 2012 Asian Women’s Volleyball Championships’ semi-final match in Kazakhstan on September 15.
Only one hour into the competition, China defeated the host team, Kazakhstan, with scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-11 respectively.
This means on September 16, the Chinese team will be up against Thailand in the final round, and Vietnam will compete with Kazakhstan for the bronze medal.
Kazakhstan is one of strongest teams in Asia. It is positioned at 32nd in the world’s rankings which is 50 steps higher than Vietnam.
In another two matches on September 15, Japan trounced Taiwan (China) with scores of 25-17, 25-15 and 25-17, while the Republic of Korea was victorious over Iran after three sets with scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-20.
