This is the major theme of a painting exhibition to be co-organized by the Israeli Embassy in Hanoi and the Vietnamese Fine Art Museum from December 7-15.

The exhibition will display 42 artworks of 10 Vietnamese and Israeli artists created from different materials, including photos, wood paintings and lacquer paintings.

In recent years, many female artists have chosen women as major subjects for their paintings, thus adding more colour to the world’s fine art.

An exhibition organizer, Raquella Azran, who is a collector and expert on Vietnam’s modern painting, said audiences will have a good chance to enjoy beautiful painting and see similarities and differences in the painted women of male and female artists.

The exhibition is part of activities in the framework of a cultural exchange programme between Vietnam and Israel in 2007.
