Winners of the national photography competition, Vietnam 24/7, will be awarded at a prize-giving ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on March 1.

More than 400 photographers entered the competition, organised by Vietnamphoto.net and Canon, with more than 1,300 photos being submitted.

Six winners were selected in total, three by a jury and three via online public voting. The top prize winner selected by the Jury, Nguyen Ngoc Khung, will receive a Canon camera LS450D, worth US$1,050 for his entry A Cham Class.

Public favourite, Nguyen Duc Thang, will be awarded VND3 million for his work Earning a Living.

The two-month contest opened in October 2008 for amateur and professional photographers of all ages.

Set up in 2003, Vietnamphoto.net has become a popular website among the country’s photography-lovers, attracting millions of hits each month.
