Six pieces of art from the 2008 VYSA Photo Contest were awarded at a ceremony held at Tokyo University in Japan on September 28.

The prize winners were selected from 66 entries of Vietnamese students and young people working and studying in Japan

The special prize went to Pho Ba Quoc Huy for his work entitled “Sakura”, which was awarded for the best photograph taken of Japan's landscape and for the most skillfully photograph ever taken. First prize went to Le Dung for the best photograph of a fishing group in Tsukiji market.

The organisers also gave four second prizes to Nguyen Hoai Thu, Nguyen Thanh Nam, Le Dung and Nguyen Vinh Xuan Thanh.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh highly appreciated the great effort put in by the Vietnamese students and young people’s association in Japan in successfully organising this first contest.

Ambassador Binh stressed that through such activities, the association has helped to boost friendship and solidarity among Vietnamese nationals in Japan. He also expressed his hope that similar contests will also be held in the near future.
