Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) marked the first anniversary of its broadcasts in the Cham ethnic language in Ho Chi Minh City on December 31.

During the first year, VOV has aired 365 such programmes and recorded nearly 100 songs in this ethnic language. These programmes attracted more Cham ethnic people as they reflect Party guidelines and State policies and aspirations of the Cham community, mostly living in south-central and the Mekong River Delta regions.

Addressing the ceremony, VOV deputy director general Dao Duy Hua noted that the programme is one of the nine VOV programmes broadcast in ethnic languages with the aim of strengthening the great national unity bloc, boosting socio-economic development and preserving cultural identity in ethnic-inhabited areas.
