A ceremony to award the 2007 Vietnamese Craft Village prize was held by the Association of Vietnamese Craft Villages in Hanoi on November 20.
Among twelve award-winners were Van Lam embroidery from Ninh Binh province, Van Phuc silk from Ha Tay province, Doi Tam drums from Ha Nam province and Bat Trang pottery from Hanoi.
More than 2,000 surviving craft villages in Vietnam have contributed to the conservation and development of national traditions and created many jobs for people living in the countryside, said the Association’s President Luu Duy Dan.
