The Trieu Khuc Village Festival was held on February 25 (the ninth day of the first lunar month) to commemorate national hero Phung Hung and celebrate the victory of volunteer soldiers over the ruling yoke of the imperial Tang dynasty in 782.
Major activities took place at the two communal houses called Dinh Sac and Dinh Dai, with the former housing the imperial honours conferred on the village genie by different dynasties, and the latter, a little bigger, worshipping Emperor Phung Hung.
After rituals, including the procession of the royal edict and the ceremony of Nhap Tich (Naturalisation), local villagers depicted five typical dances, namely the dragon dance, unicorn dance, castanet dance, drumbeat and flag dance. Local villagers and spectators joined folk games such as cock fighting, Chinese chess and wrestling.
The village of Trieu Khuc has been now called Trieu Khuc Street and it is difficult to recognise the village as passers-by cannot see the communal houses hidden behind many tall buildings. However, its cultural tradition and practices have been preserved and developed for young generations.

In the procession of the royal edict, village chiefs welcome the genie back to the Dinh Dai (bigger communal house) and express their gratitude to him for having brought about a happy and peaceful life for local villagers.
