Vietnam’s only representative at 2013 Asian Grand Prix
(VOV) -Do Thi Thao will be Vietnam’s sole representative at the upcoming Asian Grand Prix, kicking off in the Thai capital Bangkok on May 4.
The Vietnam Athletics Federation announced Thao will take part in the women’s 800m event.
The Asian Athletics Association had invited six Vietnamese athletes to compete at the 2013 Asian Grand Prix. The Vietnam Athletics Federation narrowed the list down further, selecting only three representatives for the event.
Vu Thi Huong (women’s 100m) and Duong Thi Viet Anh (women’s high jump) have both been forced to withdraw due to injuries.
The 2013 Asian Grand Prix’s second round will be held in Chonburi, Thailand, on May 8, and the third round in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on May 12.
