Vietnam's first Tea Culture Festival opened on the evening of December 21 with a dazzling cultural performance in Da Lat resort town of Central Highlands Lam Dong province.
More than 2,000 artists from HCM City and different areas of Lam Dong participated in the two-hour performance, accompanied by a pageant highlighting 35 famous tea brands.
At the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Tea Association Nguyen Kim Phong said, "Vietnam has a long history of tea production and ceremonial drinking. Tea is also a major agricultural export. Through the festival, we would like to promote tea production."
Competitions will be held during the four-day festival to nominate the national brand Che Viet (Vietnamese Tea) for the Golden Tea Award.
