Vietnam’s first 3D museum opens

(VOV) -The Vietnam National Museum of History has launched the country’s first three-dimensional (3D) museum on August 22.

Comprising two galleries, “Vietnamese Buddhist Cultural Heritage” and “Vietnamese Ancient Lamps”, it showcases nearly 150 antiquities in a virtual 3D space including bilingual English-Vietnamese subtitles and audio files.

The 3D museum also enables online visitors to connect via social networks like Facebook and Twitter and opens its doors to museum-lovers throughout the world.

Vietnam National Museum of History Deputy Director Vu Manh Ha said the 3D museum uses the latest technology employed at a number of internationally renowned museums.

It is expected to introduce Vietnam’s cultural and historical values to a broader cross-section of the viewing public.

Touring the virtual museum will encourage visitors to discover the physical one, he said, expressing hopes that all of the Vietnam National Museum of History’s exhibits will be brought online soon.
