Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, and Fansipan mountain are rated as top three in the voting for seven new world wonders on the website www.new7wonders.com launched by the New Open World.
The UNESCO recognised world natural heritage site, Ha Long Bay, has been firmly tapping the list of more than 200 candidates from all parts of the world since February 20 thanks to massive votes from domestic and international organisations and individuals.
Fansipan mountain moved from 5th to the 3rd place while Phong Nha-Ke Bang remained at the 2nd position.
The first phase of the voting kicked off in August 2007 and will close in August, 2008 to pick out 77 best favourites.
The second phase will take between six and seven months to select 21 sites of the most votes while the third and final phase will name the best seven among the 21 candidates.
