Vietnam’s largest art ceramics exhibition will open at the Hanoi Art Museum on December 23.

The Head of the Department of Fine Arts and Photography, Hoang Duc Toan, affirmed at a press briefing in Hanoi on December 22 that the event aims to introduce Vietnamese ceramic products to both domestic and international friends and honour artisans who are preserving the special value of the traditional crafts.

The exhibition will showcase 216 works of 134 artists from 16 provinces and cities, which represents the typical styles of different ceramics, such as Bat Trang in Hanoi, Phu Lang in Bac Ninh, Chu Dau in Hai Duong and Tho Ha. It will attract renowned artisans across the country, including the oldest one - Le Ngoc Han (75) and the youngest one - Pham Vu Viet Ha (21).

The Department of Fine Arts and Photography launched the event early this year and has collected 459 works from 158 craftsmen.

The Vietnam Fine Arts Association will present awards to 10 outstanding potters.
