The Vietnamese war film “Duong thu” (The Couriers' Path), directed by Bui Tuan Dung, has been released on DVD in Japan.
The film tells the story of soldiers, one older than the other, during fierce battles between Vietnamese and US military forces in Khe Sanh, central Quang Tri Province in 1967.
Tan, a postman with six years' service and Hoang An, a tenderfoot, were assigned to bring a sealed order to the place, when Height 861 was encircled with dead or wounded soldiers.
Amidst the scenes of carnage, An used letters from his girlfriend as a means to give him the strength to overcome hardships during the war.
