The Ministry of Education and Training and the Kumho Asiana –Vietnam Scholarship and Cultural Foundation granted scholarships worth more than VND230 million to 140 Vietnamese students in Hanoi on October 28.

Coming from eighteen universities in Hanoi, HCM City, Hue and Da Nang, 126 of these students overcame great difficulties to gain high scores at the 2008 tertiary entrance exam.

Fourteen other recipients took part in the final round of the first Korean language speaking contest held in July.

In 2007, the foundation granted scholarships to 100 Vietnamese students who achieved outstanding academic performance at universities in Hanoi.

Currently, the Republic of Korea is actively taking part in many social activities and cultural exchange programmes in Vietnam.
