Vietnamese communities in Poland always appreciate and pride themselves on having a school that helps maintain Vietnamese language and culture as well as creating an exchange environment for Vietnamese young people in Poland.

The school has recently held a ceremony in Warsaw to review the 2006-2007 school year.

Present were Vietnamese ambassador to Poland Nguyen Van Xuong and many representatives from Vietnamese communities and the students’ families.

Speaking at the occasion, headmaster of the Vietnamese school in Poland, Dr Hoang Xuan Binh thanked teachers, parents, and the Vietnamese embassy in Poland as well as community organizations for their great support for the school’s activities over the past seven years.

Dr Binh affirmed that the school will continue to conduct remedial programmes in Vietnamese language and extracurricular activities as well as classes of Vietnamese studies. The school will also maintain annual activities to mark such events as Teachers’ Day (November 20), Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) and International Children’s Day (June 1).

During the ceremony, the school presented certificates of merit to 20 excellent students who have been listed in the traditional record book, and asked the Vietnamese embassy to reward the students on the occasion of the National Day (September 2).

In his speech, ambassador Xuong praised the school’s efforts in the past school year and called on all parents, community organizations and companies to continue providing practical support for activities, aimed at promoting Vietnamese language and culture for the next generations of Vietnamese communities in Poland.

In the 2006-2007 school year, which was the seventh of the Vietnamese school in Poland, there were seven classes (from first to fifth grade) with an enrolment of 116 pupils.
