A Vietnamese poet, Da Thao Phuong, has set off her journey to United Kingdom with 4 other leading writers from the South East Asian region to take part in a poetry-reading programme in the foggy country.
The programme is co-supported by the British Council and Apples & Snakes-the United Kingdom’s leading organisation for spoken-word performance.
Poets from Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore together with well-known British poets take part in characteristic performance, themed the Free Creativeness of Words in Every Country’s Culture, to be held in such cities as London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Lancaster and Bath.
Apart from reading poems, the programme is comprised of exchanges on career development and cultural discussions between Asian and British artists.
