Vietnamese pianist Nguyen Bich Tra will perform on the evening of December 3 at Washington, DC’s Kennedy Centre, one of the US’s most pregious national performing arts centers.

Tra will perform Sergei Prokofiev’s Sarcasms Op.1, Nicolas Medtner’s Reminiscenza Sonata Op.38 and Leo Ornstein’s Selected Waltzes from Seventeen Waltzes.

One of the country’s most promising piano talents, Tra graduated from Russia’s Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow.

In 1999, she completed an advanced performance course at the Royal Academy of Music in London and continued her master’s degree at the College of Music and Media there.

She has performed in Europe, working with prestigious studios such as Toccata Classics and radio four Hong Kong.

“I hope my performances at home will contribute to the country’s classical music scene,” said the 35-year-old, who lives in London but often returns to Hanoi and HCM City to perform.

Before her concert in Washington, DC, Tra performed at the Shostakovich Centenary Festival, organized at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Two months ago, she also participated in the HCM City Symphony Orchestra, performing as a soloist at the Asian Symphony Orchestra Week in Tokyo.

Her concert will begin at 6pm.
