A traditional Vietnamese opera troupe from the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long will attend the 2007 Smithsonian Folklife Festival in the US this June.

Three actors and two instrumentalists from the century-old Dong Thinh Opera Troupe will perform a piece for this year’s festival entitled "Mekong River: Connecting Cultures".
The annual Smithsonian festival introduces visitors to various types of traditional arts from countries in the Mekong River Basin, such as Vietnamese opera, Thai shadow puppetry, Cambodian classical dance and the Chinese gourd flute.
