The Magic Flute opera by genius composer W.A Mozart was performed at the Swedish theatre, NorrlandsOperan (known as Norrland Opera) last weekend.

The opera, consisting of two acts, drew 22 artists, including two Vietnamese vocalists, to take part.

Vietnam’s current leading soprano Ha Pham Thang Long played Papagena while another singer, Huyen Nga, joined the chorus.

The highlight of the opera is that Thang Long and other singers from South Africa sang in their mother tongues and the rest in Swedish. This was considered one of new experiences on the Swedish stage.

From September to November, the Magic Flute opera will be performed 21 times. All the 1,600 tickets for the coming performances were already sold out.
