An international bazaar opened in Mexico City on December 16 as a joint initiative of the Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malaysian and Thai Embassies in Mexico with the aim of boosting cultural exchange as well as promoting ASEAN countries' image.

Many visitors have been attracted by Vietnamese fine art products and publications, which introduce the country's achievements during the process of industrialisation and modernisation.

Regarding the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Van Thinh expressed his delight at the fine development of Vietnam-Mexico friendship and economic cooperation.

Two-way trade of the two countries hit US$164 million in the first half of this year, up 20 percent from last year. Vietnam's export turnover represented 98 percent of the figure, said the ambassador.
