Two Vietnamese documentary films entered the second screening round at the 29th International Documentary Films Festival held in Paris from March 9-18.

"Kien", directed by Dao Thanh Tung, features the internal life of a young painter who is HIV-positive. Living with a complex about the social discrimination, Kien has indulged himself in painting.

Meanwhile, "Dreaming of becoming a worker" by young director Tran Phuong Thao highlights the difficulties facing young girls who have left their hometown for a big city in pursuit of a better life.

Held for the first time in Paris in 1978 under an initiative by the French National Library, the annual festival has served as a venue for French and international documentary film makers.

As many as 37 documentary films from 20 countries in the world have been screened at this year's festival.
