The Ministry of Culture and Information has decided to organise a film week in the Central Highlands in March when the regional Ethnic Group Unity Festival is held in coincidence with a grand ceremony to receive the UNESCO certificate recognizing the Gongs as masterpieces of humankind’s oral and intangible heritage.

During the week, films will feature images, the new lives and traditional cultural identity of ethnic minority people in the Central Highlands. A number of feature films on the topic of the revolution, Uncle Ho and Vietnamese land and people will also be presented.

According to the Department of Cinematography, films will be shown in five Central Highland provinces, particularly in remote areas. An exchange programme between actors, directors and cameraman and ethnic people in the region will also be held during the event.
