Organizers of the Vietnamese festival in Japan met at the National Museum in Tokyo on August 29. The meeting drew more than 200 senior representatives from both countries.

Also present were president of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentarians’ Friendship Union, Takebe Tsutomu, a member of Japanese parliament, Matsuda Iwao, head of the festival’s organising board and Vietnamese ambassador to Japan, Nguyen Phu Binh.

The Vietnamese festival, the biggest so far in Japan, is scheduled to take place from September 19-21 to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Japan-Vietnam diplomatic relations.

100 stalls will be put up in Yoyogi Park, Tokyo. Besides, a series of activities will be held in Osaka and Nagoya cities, including Vietnam-Japan culture night, Japan-Vietnam economic cooperation forum and photo exhibition on the land and people of Vietnam.
