A collection of 64 poems of Vietnamese famous female poet Ho Xuan Huong, who lived in the late 18th century, has been translated into Romanian and published by the Qilinul din Jad Publishing House in Romania.
The 150-page bilingual work was completed by former Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam Constantin Lupeanu and his wife Mira Lupeanu.
The authors’ translation was based on the original script in Nom characters (Vietnamese words written in Chinese characters), as well as other translated versions in English and French, and many cultural and historical researches of the period when the "Queen of Nom poems" lived.
Many poems in the collection also included illustration and explanation of meanings.
