An exhibition on Vietnamese currencies will be held at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum to mark its 30th anniversary and the 310th anniversary of Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City).

The exhibition will showcase many kinds of Vietnamese currencies which used to be circulated in the past. They will include bronze and zinc coins which were used from the Dinh Dynasty to the Nguyen Dynasty (968-1945), silver, bronze and gold coins, Vietnamese Democratic Republic currency, Vietnamese Dong, treasury bills, bills used in the anti-American resistance war, Indochinese currency and bank notes.

Visitors will have the chance to explore business transactions between Saigon, Gia Dinh and the southern region, the coining technology and the development of a commodity economy from the 10th to the 20th centuries in Vietnam.

The exhibition aims to encourage citizens to preserve and promote the national historical value of the currencies as well as creating links between the museum and individual collectors.
