Vietnamese Cultural Days were held in South Africa from August 31 to September 2 as part of activities to mark Vietnam’s 64th National Day and the 16th anniversary of the establishment of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the South African Ambassador to Vietnam praised the organization of the event in his home country, saying that this will help South African people better understand the Vietnamese people, land and culture.
During the event, various art performances took place, including a fashion show featuring Vietnamese women’s traditional long dress (Ao Dai), a photo exhibition, and a film screening.
Many young South Africans attending the event said they were impressed by Vietnam’s distinctive culture and hoped that similar event would be repeated in the future.
