The “Vietnamese cultural bookcase” will open at the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Museum of Ethnology in Seoul in late August.

The event is part of a project themed the RoK’s “multi-cultural bookcase” with a focus on Vietnam and Mongolia this year. The project will then expand to other foreign communities in the RoK.

With this exhibition, visitors will have the chance to find out more about different cultures as many documents, artifacts and visual displays will be on show. Viewers can explore many subjects, including history, language, flora and fauna, cuisine, musical instruments and traditional games.

Several comics and cartoons have been translated into both Vietnamese and Korean, for young readers of multi-cultural families.

Vietnam now has 90,000 people living and working in the RoK, second only to China. Of these, 35,000 are brides to Koreans.
