Vietnam's famous classical pianist, Dang Thai Son, performed with the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Mats Liljefors of Sweden, at the Hanoi Opera House on November 26.

The programme feasted the audience with classical works of great composers such as the Wilhelm Tell Overture by G. Rossini, the Piano Concerto November 27 by W. A. Mozart, and Symphony No. 4 by P. Tchaikovsky.

Son rose to world fame when he won the 10th Frederick Chopin International Piano Competition in 1980, becoming the first Asian winner of the prestigious contest at that time.
