A collection of 197 Vietnamese bronze antiques has been on display at the Beijing Museum in China.

The exhibits include drums, jars, statues, jewelry, utensils and weapons dating back from the Dong Son culture (2000-2500 years ago) to the Nguyen dynasty (between the 19th and early 20th centuries).

The collection was previously showcased at a museum in Nanning city of Guangxi province, and will be displayed in other Chinese localities later.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on Febraury 1, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Museum of History (VMH) Dinh Van Thin said that the exhibition aims to promote cultural exchange and friendship between Vietnam and China.

The exhibition, co-organised by the VMH and the Beijing Museum, will last until the end of this month.
