Vietnamese artists and dancers performed a special art programme in Brussels last Friday as part of the ongoing festival “Vietnamese Days in Belgium”.

Art performances such as instrumental music, folk songs, traditional dances and shows of traditional costumes received thunderous applause from more than 1,000 overseas Vietnamese and international friends attending the gala night.

In the opening address, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Phan Thuy Thanh introduced participants to the cultural identity and traditional arts of the 54 different ethnic groups of the Vietnamese nation.

The Vice Speaker of the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region spoke highly of the results of festive activities and said that the federal Government and local regions consider Vietnam a priority partner not only in economics and trade but also in culture and arts.
