Vietnamese writers, poets and translators joined their Russian colleagues in an exchange programme in Moscow on July 25.

The get-together took place in a friendly atmosphere with the aim of promoting mutual understanding between the two countries’ literature and art circles.

Nguyen Thuy Toan, a famous translator of Russian literature, said that during a week-long trip, Vietnamese and Russian writers met and warmed up their relationship.

Olech Bavykin, head of the external affairs department of the Russian Writers’ Association, praised Vietnamese and Russian writers, poets and translators for their active contributions to introducing Vietnamese literature to Russia and vice versa. He also expressed his wish to promote the translation and publication of literature pieces in both countries.

During the meeting, participants had a good chance to enjoy the presentation of poems in both Vietnamese and Russian.

The Vietnamese delegation began a visit to Russia on July 17 to strengthen the relationship and exchange activities with Russian writers.
