Vietnamese photographers had an overwhelming victory in the 6th international artistic photography contest 2011, winning three out of five gold medals.

The winning photos are “Tam Tau” (Trio) by Ha Van Dong, “Ba Chi Em Nguoi Mong” (Three Little H’mong Girls) by Tran Thiet Dung and “Qua Khu Mot Trieu Dai” (Remnants of a Dynasty) by Nguyen Quang Tuan.

The other gold medals went to “Rising Planet-10” by Mikhail Bondar from Ukraine and “Festival Tha Dieu Quoc Te O Vung Tau” (International Kite Festival in Vung Tau) by Vietnamese-French artist Tran Huu Tri.

The photo contest was launched in May by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA) under the sponsorship of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).

The organizing board received more than 10,612 entries from over 1,600 photographers in 55 countries and territories around the globe.

An international exhibition showcasing the best 505 entries of the contest will be held at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi this November.
