Vietnam’s Nhon Nghia Duong troupe has won a silver medal at the ongoing World Lion and Dragon Dance Championship in Shanghai.

The HCM City based six-member dance troupe won their medal for their performance of Nanshi (Unicorn Dance), which they completed in 1 minute 41 seconds – one second behind the winners from Macau.

The Vietnamese team beat a number of strong contenders, including teams from the Chinese, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, and should stand them in good stead for the third Asian Indoor Games (AIG). Vietnam will host the AIG in October and Lion and dragon dancing is one of 20 official sports.

The World Lion and Dragon Dance Championship will end on May 13.
