The “Power of the Arms” performance by the two brothers Giang Quoc Co and Giang Quoc Nghiep won the Grand Prix prize and the Audience Award, while the “Superman Swing” show bagged the bronze medal.

This was the first time in 20 years that Vietnamese artists have attended an international festival in Cuba.

Since its establishment in 1981, the annual international circus festival has drawn participants from many countries, including China, Russia, Mongolia and Spain. This year’s event attracted more than 100 artists from 14 countries.

Vu Ngoan Hop, Director of the Vietnamese Circus Federation, said that young Vietnamese artists have won such honourable prizes because of their outstanding performances. They have also helped introduce Vietnam and its people to international friends.

Vietnam's ambassador to Cuba, Vu Chi Cong, held a special meeting with the circus performers to congratulate them on their success at the international competition.
