During the seminar, there were meetings between universities from HCM City, the southern region and 16 professors from universities in the north-eastern region of the US.

The seminar focused on assessing the demands for education and training, as well as human resource development in Vietnam. It also discussed measures to tap co-operation potential in exchange of research themes, post-graduate education, as well as solutions to seek partners to help Vietnam set up a university of international standards.

The seminar also mapped out short-term and long-term demands for human resources in Vietnam for local enterprises, overseas Vietnamese and foreign companies.
