Luu Hong Quang, a student of the Hanoi Conservatoire will represent Vietnam at the 7th Asian Piano Contest in Tokyo, Japan, from January 9-21.

Hong Quang, 15, listed among participants under 16 years old, will perform four musical works proposed by the organising board. They are Prelude-Fuga D dur by J.Bach, Valse N7, Dtude N2 Op25 and Fantasie-Impromtu by Chopin.


This is the first time Vietnam has sent a young student to the event, which attracts the participation of young talents from China, the Republic of Korea, Japan and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.


According to People’s Artist Dang Thai Son, the current trend in the academic music world is to encourage and discover young talents.
