Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan has approved a project to allow a number of universities to carry out advanced training programmes in the 2008-2015 period.
The project aims to help local universities develop in accordance with regional and international standards, thus enhancing training quality, expanding renovated programmes in Vietnamese tertiary education and taking several Vietnamese universities to the tier of 200 top universities in the world.
The project, with at least 30 advanced graduate programmes by 2015, will benefit almost 4,000 bachelors, 600 masters’ and doctors’ degree holders.
The project will have 60 percent of its cost sourced from the State budget, 25 percent from the universities and 15 percent from the students.
